Our Member's Vehicles

Ian Dunn - 1979 Series 3 109 GS Land Rover

The Land Rover was in a reasonable condition when I first collected it from Wokingham, Berkshire and drove it back to Bodmin without knowing the vehicle.
When I got it, it was painted Deep Bronze Green. This had been painted over Nato Green and Black, and was soon rubbed down and back to this colour sceme. The photos supplied were taken on 27th of March this year during a film shoot on Dartmoor when it was used to represent a Land Rover used in the Falklands War. Over the winter it will be taken into the workshop and given a re-paint.

Ben Davis - Snow Cat

The snow cats were used a lot in the falklands, however we are unsure whether this one served there, and it also possibly served in Norway on exercises.

"My ex-son inlaw's brother was a marine, and he told me that he used to drive these, and had a frightening experience when in a whiteout, he went over a ridge and slid about 200ft down a gully all ok but the captain said to the guys; "well, I think it's time to put the kettle on and have a nice cup of tea."" - Ben Davis
