"Help us make the conversations of yesterday, become the conversations of today!" - Join Now

The South West Battle Group is an organisation who specialise in wartime living history, from the trenches at Ypres in WW1, to the modern day. We also organise battle re-enactments for specific events throughout the year, using blank firing weapons, gas firing weapons, and other pyrotechnics.

We attend numerous events throughout the year whether it be events organised by the group, or events organised by other groups, or venues. Some of the best events in the South West that we attend are: Bodmin and Wenford Railway Steaming throught the 40s, Castle Drogo Wartime weekend, Buckfastleigh Railway, and many more family attractions.

A lot of the members are also members of the Military Vehicle Trust, and therefore bring their vehicles along to the events to improve the displays. We have displays ranging from WW2 French Resistance and the home front, to medical displays of the modern era.

We are always looking for new enthusiastic people, who are interested in the hobby, and wish to become members. I'd like to impress the fact that ANYONE who would like to join our group is able to do as much or as little as they wish. We would love to hear from you!

Yours Sincerely,

James S-Wright
